Summer is in full swing, and we've got some exciting releases coming up later this month. We've also got a number of great events happening at the brewery. In case you missed it, we announced that our staff is now fully vaccinated, and we were harassed by a small, but very vocal minority of anti-vaxxers. On the flip side we received an overwhelming amount of positive support from people who thanked us for taking a public position on this issue. We will continue to trust in the science and see that we get to the other side of this pandemic safely.
First up, we had another epic canning run this week and fan favourites, Settebello Italian Pilsner and Goldie Boat English Golden Ale are back in stock!
Remember live music? We have missed being able to enjoy a beer while listening to a performer play and actual instrument in person. We've got two artists lined up for patio performances; John Crawford on Sunday, August 2nd at 2pm and Kashew Butter on Thursday, August 5th from 5pm to 8pm. Don't miss them.
We've also got a number of seriously cool pop-ups and other events this month including:
- Four Fathers Hot Sauce and Empanada Pop-Up Sunday, August 8th
- Ian Wright, Animal Portraits Sunday, August 15th
- Laughs and Draughts Comedy, Sunday, August 22nd
As for upcoming brews, we've got some fun beers coming later this month. We've got another iteration of No Floaties Hazy Pale Ale coming up. Brew master Pete is constantly experimenting with hop combinations to make this one different every time.
We just brewed a batch of Blue Harvest, a blue raspberry wheat ale that is actually blue! We use blue spirulina powder to colour the beer, something normally added to health food drinks. So technically, this is a health food beer, maybe? The name is a subtle nod to Star Wars and the blue milk served on Tatooine. Stay tuned to our social media for release dates.
Lastly we brewed something interesting with our friends at Bossanova, a brand-new beer and wine shop on Roncesvalles. They wanted to create a beer that would be a great bridge for beer and wine drinkers. To this farmhouse ale, which we called Surfer Rosé, we added wine grapes for a unique flavour and cross over drink. Look for that here at the brewery and at Bossanova at 103 Roncesvalles Ave (coming soon).
You can always join us on our patio 5 days a week, every Wednesday to Sunday. See you soon!
